PROPOSALS

TCB welcomes proposals from established and emerging artists and curators from a variety of disciplines. 

Please note that we do not accept proposals from undergraduate students who intend to exhibit whilst in a study year. 

We have two proposal rounds per year.

The deadline for exhibitions in the second half of 2010 (July - December) is Saturday March 22.

Proposals should include:
  • A completed TCB Application Form
  • A typed description of the proposed project (no more than one 300 words or the eqivalent in images or song....). Make sure you give a clear description of what the project is, what it will look like and why you want to do it. We get in excess of 70 applications for about 10 spots... have some fun.
  • Specify your preferred space and preferred dates for your show.
Support material
  • This can be still images or audio/visual material of the proposed or previous work, and can be submitted on slide, print, CD-R, or DVD. Please ensure all supporting materials are clearly labelled with name, title, date, medium, and dimensions. Do not send originals.
  • Please supply a stamped, self-addressed envelope if you would like your support material to be returned.
  • 6-8 images for solo exhibitions   /   10-12 images for group exhibitions   /   3 mins vid
  • A brief CV for each applicant. 


The Gallery

There are 2 spaces at TCB (front and back). The front space incorporates the middle room plus the foyer area. The back space is a smaller, more intimate space. Both spaces are suitable for audio/visual work. There is an option to hire both spaces.

Exhibition Fees

Front Space - $700
Back Space - $550

Prices are for a 3-week show, and include:
  • TCB invitation production (150 x A6 card)
  • Email out to TCB mailing list
  • Art Almanac listing
  • Promotion, documentation and archiving of exhibition on the TCB website
  • Opening night
  • Materials for cleaning and restoring gallery
